Feburary Favorites

Hi Beauties,

snapchat-1867486620

February has come and gone. Which brings me to my February favorites. The products that I’m going to be mentioning in this weeks blog are my favorite products that I’ve used through out the entire month of February. Some of the products are new items and some aren’t. I hope you enjoy this blog 🙂

I would love to know what your February Favorites are, comment below in the comment section.

  1. SHRAY
Ms. Amazing: Sensitive, Dry Skin Moisturizing Mask

I received my first mask in my monthly Ipsy  glam bag.  This mask worked so well on my skin I had to purchase a box of them.  My skin felt very hydrated and soft. The packaging is so cute. The mask fit my skin perfectly. I recommend people with sensitive and dry skin to use this mask. snapchat-504555566

  2. L’Oreal Paris INFALLIBLE Pro-Spray & Set Makeup Extender Setting Spray

I’m late to this setting spray. I’ve heard a lot of great things about this setting spray. Whenever, I would go into Target or Walmart its never in stock. While shopping in my local Walgreen’s I saw they had it and I got it. I’ve been using this setting spray for the entire month of February. Sadly, I’m almost done with the bottle. I definitely recommend this setting spray. snapchat-1750175494

  3. Choice ORGANIC TEAS Tea Bag, Beauty Detox

Tea (hot tea) has been my new obsession. I found this tea at my local Home Goods store. I read the ingredients and I wanted to try it. The purpose of this tea is to clear the way for healthy, vibrant skin. The natural fragrant blends encourages your body’s natural detox process. Ingredients: Aromatic jasmine green tea (supports skin health). Burdock root (detoxification dynamo that aids liver function to promote clear skin from the inside out). And chamomile (calms sensitive skin). I have seen improvement in my skin. It’s very refreshing. This tea  will continue to be apart of my beauty regimen. snapchat-662705542

  4. Estée Lauder Double Wear All BB Moisture Makeup                               Broad Spectrum SPF 30

Can we get a moment of silence for this BB cream. I’ve been using this BB cream for a few years now and it’s still a everyday favorite of mine. During the week I like to wear BB cream because it’s so gentle on the skin. It’s not as heavy as foundation. The formula is moisturizing, creamy and has great coverage. A little goes a long way. snapchat-1960684503

      5. Ogx Healing + Vitamin E Penetrating Oil

Y’all this oil is EVERYTHING!!! It’s so light weight and smells amazing. I love this oil. It’s great for all hair types. Vitamin E helps to smooth the surface of hair while penetrating moisture. Helps increase strength and elasticity. I used this oil every morning during the month of February. I received this oil in my Curl Kit monthly subscription box.  GO to your local Target, Walmart or any store and buy this oil. It’s that good.snapchat-1205567780

Bath & Body Works Fragrance & Body Cream Favorites Haul

Hi Beauties,

I’m back with a Bath and Body works Fragrance and Body Cream Haul. LISTEN! Bath and Body has been a fragrance and body cream staple worldwide for many years. The deals & discounts honestly keeps me coming. If you’re looking for inexpensive body fragrances and body creams that smell great, you should definitely find your local Bath and Body works store. Each season brings a wide range of diverse fragrances.

snapchat-1997889905snapchat-577911007

I hate going inside the store, you can never get one item. Especially, when they have the buy 3 get 3 free sale. Those are the best deals and you can’t turn that down. I try to stock up on a few  products, so I don’t have to come back for awhile. The body creams are so handy. I like to keep one on my desk at work and in my purse. I love how the body creams are made with Shea butter and Coco Butter. Which makes the cream thick and moisturizing. It’s everything you want in a body cream. Since there’s a huge variety of beautiful fragrances there’s no reason why you couldn’t find a fragrance that suits you.

On my most recent stop to Bath and Body works, I stocked up on my ride or die fragrances and body creams.

Coconut Oil Deep Repair Masque Review

Hi Beauties,

It’s the winter time and my natural hair tend to get very dry during these cold months. I have to make sure I’m constantly keeping my hair moisturized.

I really try to wash my hair with deep conditioner once a week.  It’s important to deep condition your hair a couple times a month. Deep conditioning your hair has many benefits, such as promotes moisture, hair loss prevention, elasticity, and adds shine and luster to your natural hair.

While shopping in my local Bealls Outlet. I came across this Coconut Oil Deep repair masque. To be honest the packaging is what drew me to it.  Like most things. While reading the back of the packaging, I read how this conditioner particularly caters to Dry or Damaged hair. When I purchase or make a my DIY deep conditioners, I like to choose a deep conditioner that fit my hair needs at that time. Right now my hair is dry and brittle. My hair definitely needs some deep restorion.

Excelsior Coconut Oil Deep Repair Masque 12 oz. snapchat-1498346647

by Excelsior

Reconstructer for Dry or Damaged Hair

I couldn’t wait to use this conditioner. The deep repair masque smells light like coconut oil. The texture is so soft and silky. My hair loves this stuff. My curls were so defined and full of elasticity and moisture. I apply the deep conditioner masque after I have washed and cleaned my hair. I section my hair in 4 sections and rack the deep conditioner in my hair. Cover hair with shower cap. I personally keep the deep conditioner in my hair for a few hours. Depending on the conditioner I’ll keep in over night.

Directions: Apply to clean, wet hair and combine through completely. Leave in for up to 7 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. No heat required. Do not use more than twice a week.

I will definitely be repurchasing this Coconut oil deep repair masque again. I was able to find this deep repair masque on Amazon: Escelsior Coconut Oil Deep Repair Masque

Low Budget and High-end Tag

PhotoGrid_1486929322469.pngHi Beauties!

While reading a few beauty blogs, I came across the Low Budget and High end tag. I wasn’t nominated to do this tag so I nominated myself. I would love for you beauties to join me in answering the questions below.

Q: Do you have more low budget or high end products in your makeup collection?

A: Low Budget

Q: Low Budget or High-end Mascara?

A: Low Budget! I can’t push myself to pay more than $10 for mascara, even then I don’t want too.

Q: Low Budget or High-end Foundation?

A: Low Budget again. I own a lot of low budget foundations that I’m obsessed with.

Q: Low Budget or High-end Eye Shadow Palettes?

A: High-end, It can be hard finding a good low budget eye shadow.

Q: Which product do you always buy from a high-end brand?

A: Setting Powder

Q: Which product do you always buy from a low budget brand?

A: Concealer

Q: What product did you use to buy High-end, but you have you now switched out for a budget variety?

A:  Lip stick, I started out buying high end lipstick until I found a huge variety of low budget lipstick that last just as long as high-end.

Q: Why doesn’t this product have a low budget equivalent?

A: I don’t have one

Q: There is no luxury makeup product that can hold a candle to this budget product?

A: If I had to choose one, I would say liquid eye liner.

Q: Would you rather spoil yourself with 10 cheap items or 1 expensive item?

A: 10 cheap items. I can do more with those 10 items then I could with that 1 expensive item.

I hope you enjoyed this blog!

My Holy Grail Facial Cleanser

Hi Beauties,

Let’s talk about our skin. Taking care of my skin is very important to me. I’m sure i’m not the only beauty who feels this way. My skin care routine is very basic. I only use 2-4 products depending on my skin and if I wore a lot of makeup that week. I try to stick to a weekly skin routine. Sticking to a routine can be difficult at first. It’s important to use products that fit your skin type. I’ll do a separate detailed blog on my skin care routine soon.

But… snapchat-1503260629

This weeks blog is about my ALL TIME favorite Facial Cleanser. LISTEN to me when I tell you that this stuff is the best thing since slice bread. LOL I’m just being honest. Before I buy anything especially beauty products I like to read reviews. Mainly, to see what other people think about a product before I spend my money on it. When it came to this facial cleanser, I found so many videos on YT, articles and recipes about this cleanser. I had to try it. My family and few of my friends are addicted to the cleanser now.  I’ve been using this product for about 2 1/2 years.

Here’s one of my beauty secrets.

Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay

“World’s Most Powerful Facial”

Deep Pore Cleansing

100% Natural Calcium Bentonite Clay

You can literally feel your face pulsating.

img_0804

This facial cleanser, mud mask, clay mask,  it’s all above. It’s great for everything. Facials, acne, bodywraps, clay baths, dark spots, foot soaks, chilled clay for knee packs and insect bites!  You can also use bentonite clay as a shampoo cleanser on your hair naturals. My hair loves this stuff.

I’ve use this as a weekly deep pore cleanser on my face. You can see your pores being cleared in the mask. When I see that happen, I sometimes to add more product just to make sure the clay is deep inside my pores.

I purchased my clay from amazon: Aztec Secret

20170202_231244     20170202_231227Here’s how to mix the clay together.

1.Mix clay with equal parts of raw apple cider vinegar and/or water.

2. Use a non-metal bowl and utensil.

3.Stir the mixture into a smooth paste.  Add more clay or liquid as needed.

4.  Apply 1/8 in. to 1/4  to the face or other area.

5. Let it dry for 5-10 min. for delicate skin and 15-20 min for normal skin.

Ingredients: 100% natural calcium bentonite (green) clay.

img_0806

You will feel a pulling and tightening sensation.  Feel Your Face Pulsate!  Remove clay by washing with warm water.  Slight redness of the skin is normal and will disappear in about 30 minutes.  Removes impurities and dirt from the pores.

img_0825
Clay w/ Honey & Water

Often times like to mix honey with my bentonite clay. Especially, during these winter months, when my skin is the driest. Honey is naturally antibacterial. it’s also great for preventing and treating acne.
Using honey can be very moisturizing, soothing and your skin will forever GLOW. I love using honey on my face.

snapchat-859059985

I hope you beauties try this product it’s great. My skin loves and appreciate this clay. I hardly ever have break outs but when I do I grab this stuff and within a day or two the bump is gone. It’s amazing. Check it out and let me know what you think.

What’s your beauty secret?

Have you tried Bentonite Clay?

How to Wash & Refresh your Protective style.

Hi Beauties!

Let’s talk about hair. I like to keep my hair in protective styling. Mainly to keep my hands out of my hair. When i’m wearing my braids or other styles, I like to make sure my natural hair underneath the weave is maintained.  I have braids in my hair now. It’s important for me to make sure that my hair is moisturized. Keeping your hair moisturized underneath your protective styles can create healthy hair and even help prevent tangles and dry/brittle hair.

photogrid_1485081873457

I love getting my hair done in different styles but I hate paying for it. Getting braids and other styles can be expensive. With that being said, I like to get my moneys worth. I try to keep my protective styles in my hair, depending on the style for about 2 1/2 months. In order for my styles to last that long I have to refresh them every once in awhile.

Here’s my step by step process on how I wash and refresh my protective styles!

Step 1. Wash my hair: I like to wash my hair once every two weeks. When I wash my hair I focus on my roots, because I don’t want to over manipulate the weave. I use Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil, Strengthen Grow & Restore Shampoo. This shampoo is made with Shea Butter & Apple Cider Vinegar. Its great for clarifying, nourish & growing your hair. I pour the shampoo on my roots and gentle massage and clean my scalp, then rinse. You can repeat this step as many times as you need too. I don’t wash the weave I let the water run down the hair.

20170122_123731          I follow up with conditioner. The conditioner that I use is Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil, Strengthen Grow & Restore Conditioner. Just like the shampoo it’s great for nourishing, repairing and growing your hair. This conditioner is made with Shea Butter, Peppermint and Keratin. I love this conditioner. It’s so inexpensive, smells so good and makes my hair feel so soft. I gentle massage the conditioner into my scalp, then rinse. Once my hair is clean, I gentle squeeze the water out of the braids. I only do this for certain styles. I then wrap my hair up in a towel for at least an hour.

photogrid_1485110592482ult-115_1z

Step 2. Moisturize: Now that my scalp is clean, it is now time for me to moisturize my hair. I like to use Creme Of Nature Strength & Shine Leave‑In Conditioner. This stuff is heaven in a bottle. This has been a ride or die for me for years. I don’t think i’ll ever stop using this. I spray the leave-in conditioner on my roots and on my natural hair in the braids and gentle massage the leave-in onto my scalp. I spray my hair with this spray a few times a week.
20170122_124306

Step 2.1 You can use what ever oil you want to use for this step. Different essential oils have different properties; some are good for dry hair while others help remove excess greasiness. Depending on the nature of your hair and scalp, you should select the essential oils that best suit your needs. I like to use my DIY Oil Mixture. I use about seven different oils in my oil mix. After I use the leave-in, I pour the oil mix all over my scalp. I also pour some into my hands and rub the oil on my natural hair in the braids.

Step 3. Refresh: If you want to further refresh your braids, here’s how. In this final step, I mainly focus on the first few rows of my hair. I use Argon Oil Eco Styling Gel to refresh my braids. I like to use a small finger tip amount of Eco styling gel and grab one braid at a time. I put the Eco styling gel on the root (new growth) of my hair and twist it around. I’m not pulling my hair or wrapping it tightly. I use clips to hold the braids in place. I repeat this step until I finish the first two rows on my hair. Last thing I like to do, is rub Eco styling gel down the braids to help prevent frizz.  Once my edges and scalp are refreshed I then grab my satin scarf and tie my hair up.
20170122_124152 image

Sticking to this maintenance regimen allows me to keep my braids for a few more weeks.

The products that I used are items that work for my natural hair. You can use what ever products work best for your hair. All hair types can use this wash and refresh method.

How do you refresh your protective styles?
